Featured Article: The Emergence of Lithium-Ion Batteries

One area in the industrial cleaning industry where we see modernization is battery design and charging systems. While most industrial electric machines and floor care vehicles use traditional lead acid batteries, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) are increasingly switching to modern lithium-ion batteries. It is important for OEMs to understand their applications’ unique needs and assess whether their equipment designs require updating.

In this article, featured in the June Issue of Cleaning & Maintenance Management, Chris Botting, Manager of Research at Delta-Q Technologies, discusses the main reason OEMs of industrial floor care machines are switching from lead acid to lithium-ion batteries. Additionally, he provides insights into ways building service contractors and in-house facility managers can integrate lithium-ion charging solutions to help achieve their desired return on investment.

Delta-Q Technologies will also be exhibiting at ISSA/INTERCLEAN in Las Vegas, the largest exhibition of cleaning and hygiene in North America. Visit booth 2993 from Sept 12-14, 2017 to learn more about emerging lithium-ion technologies used in the floor care market.
