Meet Delta-Q’s executive leadership team. They are leaders in the battery charging industry and are committed to industry innovation and excellence.

Sarah MacKinnon
CEO

Sarah has been part of the Delta-Q team since 2012 when she joined the Company as CFO. In that role, Sarah worked closely with the CEO/Co-Founder and Board of Directors on driving topline growth and profitability, resulting in the acquisition of Delta-Q by ZAPI GROUP. In 2019, Sarah was appointed Co-CEO, along with Steve Blaine. In Q1 2024, Steve Blaine stepped back from Delta-Q to become a part-time executive consultant, making Sarah the CEO, responsible for all aspects of strategy, people, and operations of the Company.

Prior to joining Delta-Q, Sarah held a number of key senior finance roles over a 15-year period, primarily focused in the clean technology sector, in both private and public companies. Sarah holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia and is a Chartered Professional Accountant.

When she’s not in the office, Sarah can be found hiking Grouse, playing squash, or travelling with her family.

Brooke Hanson
Vice President, Operations

Brooke has over 20 years of global experience in the IoT market leading high-performing teams in operations, analytics, logistics, and production. She is responsible for overseeing Delta-Q’s geographically-dispersed, multiple-line, 600,000 unit plus manufacturing and supply chain operations. This includes fostering the company’s Tier-1 contract manufacturing relationships and overseeing the team of supply chain, sales operations, and logistics professionals.

Before joining Delta-Q, Brooke held the Vice President of Operations position at TZOA. Her experience also includes managing 12 manufacturing partners and an annual budget of $500 million as the Senior Director of Supply Chain position at Sierra Wireless in Richmond, BC. Brooke received her Certificate of Business Management from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, BC.

When not working, Brooke enjoys attending music concerts, honing her baking skills, and spending time with her family.

Lloyd Gomm
Vice President of Marketing

Lloyd has over 25 years of experience in the power electronics manufacturing industry in sales, marketing, and product management and has been with Delta-Q since 2008. At Delta-Q, Lloyd is responsible for leading the development of Marketing and Business Development strategies to help Delta-Q continue its growth and retention of OEM business. Lloyd plays an important role in finding new market applications that fit Delta-Q’s chosen strategy and business model. He is also a key driver behind the Charged by Delta-Q program, partnering with battery companies to better engage with customers. When it comes to accomplishing company goals, Lloyd embraces diversity and encourages his team to engage in challenging discussions.

Previously, Lloyd led Xantrex’s marketing and product strategy for their successful expansion into the industrial and residential renewable energy markets. Lloyd has a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Organizational Behaviour from Simon Fraser University.

Outside of work, Lloyd is a tech enthusiast about all things electric drive (especially e-bikes).

Sam Morovati VP Sales Delta-Q Technologies
Sam Morovati
Vice President, Global Sales

Sam has more than 25 years of experience in sales, marketing, and management of technology. At Delta-Q, Sam oversees global sales and the development of a competitive long-term growth strategy. He is also responsible for leading the Go-To-Market teams into new emerging markets through Delta-Q’s distribution channels along with Global OEM accounts.

Prior to joining Delta-Q, Sam held the Sales Director position at Honeywell where he helped customers optimize their operations with Honeywell’s building technologies. Sam’s extensive experience also includes business development and sales leadership roles at Schneider Electric, SAP, D-Link, and Corinex Communications. Sam received his ‘Electrical & Electronics Engineering’ degree from Bogazici University in Turkey. He also holds a ‘Master of Business Administration in Management of Technology’ from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, BC.

Outside of work, Sam is the father of two beautiful girls and enjoys spending time with family and friends. His favorite hobbies include tennis, squash, and road biking.

Russell Lewis
Vice President of Engineering

Russell has over 20 years of experience working in a product development environment. At Delta-Q, Russell is responsible for overseeing all of the software engineering functions related to the overall planning, organizing, specifying, development, release, and maintenance of software applications and systems according to business needs. Russell promotes a strong team environment that collaborates to deliver results. He is proud of the Delta-Q software team for being tremendously supportive of each other, as well as being experts in their fields. Russell encourages his team to develop new skills and innovate to ensure Delta-Q stays at the forefront of charger design.

Russell’s professional background is in embedded automotive system and software development, having worked on automotive technologies for 10 years prior to joining Delta-Q. He has experience working with a wide range of components from his time at Motorola AIEG and Ricardo Consulting Engineers in the UK.  His portfolio includes working with Engine Control Units, Radios, Telematics Systems, Mild Hybrids, Battery Management Systems, and general vehicle communications and OBD diagnostics. Russell holds a bachelor’s and master’s in Electronic Engineering from Warwick University in the UK. He is also a member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET).

Outside of work, Russell enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. Some of his favorite family activities include watching movies, playing board games, hiking, and downhill skiing. Russell has also been a Scout Leader for over 10 years and has enjoyed watching his kids grow up through the program. In his other free time Russell enjoys running, golfing, cross country skiing, and paddling.

Jeff Everett
Director, Product Management

Jeff is a clean-tech development leader with over 20 years of experience in the power electronics and energy storage industry, having worked on the development and launch of several innovative motive and distributed energy storage systems. At Delta-Q, Jeff is responsible for leading the product management team. Together, the team owns and manages each product’s life cycle from cradle to grave. This includes identifying market opportunities and customer problems, defining product features and capabilities that resolve those problems, working with Engineering to realize those products, and launching those products into the market. Jeff’s strong understanding of Delta-Q’s core and emerging markets and applications is a valuable asset in developing the company’s product strategy and determining OEM customer requirements.

Prior to joining Delta-Q, Jeff held multiple senior roles in Product Management, Marketing Management, and Engineering with Xantrex Technologies, Schneider Electric, and Discover Energy. Jeff received his Bachelor of Applied Science – Mechanical Engineering from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of British Columbia’s Sauder School of Business.

Outside of work, Jeff is a proud dad and enjoys spending time with his family. He also enjoys skiing and sailing in his free time.

Robert Stavrevski
Director, Business Development, Europe

Robert carries extensive experience in business development, sales, management, and systems engineering of product development companies. Combined with over 20 years of experience working in the battery, charging, and electrified solutions space, Robert is a key component in growing Delta-Q’s business in Europe. Robert’s responsibilities at Delta-Q include researching market segments and trends for business growth opportunities, building strong relationships with OEMs and channels, coordinating marketing activities, and managing the business development team to execute and succeed with the defined mission. He is devoted to finding simple innovative solutions in the intersection between customers, technology, people, and dynamic culture with challenging freedom.

Prior to joining Delta-Q, Robert worked as Director of Business Development at Alelion Energy Systems AB.  Before that, he worked at companies such as CPAC Systems AB (Volvo Penta AB), Emerson, Ericsson as well as consulting tech companies. Robert completed his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology.

Outside of work, Robert is the father of 3 wonderful children and enjoys exercising, travelling, reading, and playing a majority of sports (with special love to the ones where a ball is involved). Robert started up a local karate club (Wadokai) 2 years ago and received his JKF Wadokai black belt (Shodan) in 2022. He also enjoys carrying out his own home renovation projects whenever time permits.

Rod Dayrit, Director of Business Development North America
Rod Dayrit
Director, Business Development, Global Lead

Rod has 23 years of experience in new product development and life cycle management. He carries with him a deep technical understanding of electrical engineering from his time as a Hardware Engineer at Motorola Inc. Rod plays a key role in expanding Delta-Q’s business opportunities across the globe. His responsibilities include identifying, developing, and cultivating new business relationships for the company. This includes, but is not limited to, market research, defining new target markets and/or applications, building out strategies for attainment and being on the front line of the industry for the company.

Before joining Delta-Q, Rod most recently worked as a Sales Manager at Samsung SDI. Over a span of four years, Rod moved up positions twice and was named employee of the year two times for the North America region. Rod was able to win the EZGO, MTD, and Toro accounts while managing the Stanley Black and Decker account concurrently. At the height of his time at Samsung SDI, he was managing upwards of $250M of P&L. Rod also carries with him business experience from managerial positions held at Foxlink Inc., Motorola Mobility, and Palladium Energy (now Inventus Power). Rod completed his Bachelor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Illinois.

Outside of the workplace, Rod is a father and husband and enjoys spending time with his family. Rod’s hobbies include golf, snowboarding, cars, and trading stocks. He also enjoys watching sports such as football, basketball, and baseball. When possible, Rod likes to travel with the family to warm and exotic places. Rod loves to listen to most types of music and will gladly show off his dance moves.

Matt Apfel
Director of Sales, Americas

Matt brings with him more than 18 years of technical sales experience. His responsibilities at Delta-Q include developing a focused North American market prioritization strategy and guiding strategic account and opportunity management between the NA Sales and BD teams. Matt plays a key role in keeping the teams on track to meet and exceed the region’s annual goals, working directly with the Executive team and Go-to-Market functions to communicate the support required to achieve success. Matt also manages and supports some direct strategic OEM accounts, ensuring a strong collaborative relationship between them and Delta-Q. Matt is passionate and “obsessed” with supporting Delta-Q’s OEM partners in their product electrification efforts. He recognizes electrification as an opportunity to increase efficiencies and ROI, all while reducing carbon footprints.

Before joining Delta-Q, Matt held the role of Technical Sales Engineer at two Fortune 500 companies, those being Texas Instruments and Arrow Electronics. He also held a regional sales manager role at Anderson Power Products. Matt completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from the University of New Haven in Connecticut, USA.

Outside of work, Matt loves spending time with his wife Christina and their two young children. Some of his favorite activities include traveling, meeting new people, and enjoying a nice bottle of wine with family and friends. Matt also enjoys taking his kids to amusement parks and getting coaxed into riding roller coasters with his son who knows he has a fear of heights. He is a closet New York sports fan.

Jennifer Renaud
Director, Finance

Jennifer has over 20 years of senior level experience leading a team of accounting professionals. She is responsible for overseeing the finance and accounting function at Delta-Q.

Jennifer’s experience before joining Delta-Q includes multiple high level financial positions at previous companies. Her impressive resume includes the Associate Director, Finance position at Xenon Pharmaceuticals and the Director, Finance position at Lasik Vision Corporation. Jennifer holds both a CPA and CGA.

Outside of work, Jennifer is a mom and loves spending time with her family, including her dog. She enjoys experimenting in the kitchen and creating many different international dishes. Jennifer is proud to support several charities, including Wildlife Rescue, Saints, SPCA, and Cavalier Rescue USA.

Conway Hui
Director, Sales Application Engineering & Customer Support

Conway joined Delta-Q in 2006 and has since grown with the company, developing strong values-based leadership, organizational planning, and complex decision-making skills. Conway’s extensive knowledge as a Registered Professional Engineer is a valuable asset in leading Delta-Q’s global Sales Application Engineering Team and all of the company’s Customer Support functions. These Customer Support functions include technical support, warranties, and field issues.

In addition to his experience at Delta-Q, Conway has worked in early mobile data systems, automotive emissions and testing, industrial control system design, and the commissioning of medical cyclotrons. Conway holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree from the University of British Columbia.

Outside of work, Conway enjoys being connected to nature. The planet is very important to him: be it on foot, on two wheels, on skis, or with oars.

Andy Zhang
Andy Zhang
Director of Supply Chain, China

Andy has over 25 years of experience in supply chain, sourcing, and commodity management. An expert in Lean Production, Andy’s responsibilities at Delta-Q include developing and implementing a competitive supply chain and sourcing strategy, managing and negotiating supplier costs, and applying cost reduction activities to the supply chain.

Before arriving at Delta-Q, Andy worked at the Yongqian Vehicle Manufacturing Company in China as a Vice President of their purchasing center. There, he managed the warehouse, PMC, sourcing, purchasing, cost, and more. Andy has also held past managerial roles at Binder Office Product (HK-China), Esselte Office Product (USA), and Eastech (Taiwan). Andy has a Master of Management Business (MBA) at the University of Ballarat in Australia.

Outside of work, Andy enjoys a wide variety of activities including badminton, hiking, running, swimming, and other sports. He also enjoys travelling to other countries and meeting new people.

Daniel Nuttall
Director, Hardware Engineering

Daniel has over 20 years of experience spanning across numerous high-technology industries and applications, including Research Institutions, Aerospace, Automotive and Renewable Energies. As Delta-Q’s Director of Hardware Engineering, Daniel leads his technical teams in Agile environments by employing adaptive and focused leadership styles. He is responsible for facilitating the success of high performing individuals, team engagement, flexibility and effectiveness during demanding and evolving research and new product introduction development lifecycles.

Prior to joining Delta-Q, Daniel worked for two years at Genesis Advanced Technology as an Engineering Manager. His experience also includes leadership positions at Schneider Electric, McLaren, and Mercedes. Daniel received his Bachelor of Electronic and Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Birmingham in the UK. He also holds a PhD in Power Electronics which he received from the University of Manchester.

Jon Stroud
Director, Program Management

Jon brings with him over 20 years of experience working in an engineering environment. Joining Delta-Q as a Program Manager in 2008, Jon’s leadership and experience has since led to him becoming Delta-Q’s Director of Program Management.

Prior to joining Delta-Q, Jon worked as a Manufacturing Engineering Leader at Telefax in Richmond, BC. His experience in managerial positions also extends to his time at Windo-Motion, a Division of Magna International, and Wave Precision, a Division of GSI Lumonics. Jon received his Bachelor of Applied Science Mechanical Engineering / Management from the University of Ottawa.

Marco Cassani
Director of Sales, Europe

Marco has over 30 years of experience in B2B Sales and sales-related activities. At Delta-Q, Marco is responsible for coordinating and supporting the European team. This includes developing and implementing strategies alongside Business Development and Application Engineers to achieve set goals and accomplish success in the region. Marco’s ability to clearly communicate these goals with the HQ plays a valuable role in keeping the company’s sales efforts aligned. Marco also understands the value of providing high-quality customer support and will go above and beyond to identify solutions that will best benefit our partners.

Prior to joining Delta-Q, Marco held the Sales Director, Mobility position at FIAMM SONICK BATTERIES Italy / Switzerland. His experience also includes working as a Sales and Marketing Manager at MES DEA in Switzerland. His vast experience working in different sales positions has provided him with the opportunity to manage business relations from all over the world, including Europe, North America, India, and the Far East.  Marco has learned that no matter where you are, the key to success is to always treat customers as a partner and to form mutually beneficial collaborative relationships. Marco received his bachelors degree in Business and Economics from the Università Bocconi in Milan.

Marco enjoys travelling the world and meeting new people and cultures both while on business trips and with his family. When not abroad, Marco loves cooking and experimenting with new and international cuisines.

Shahid Khan
Director, Quality

At Delta-Q, Shahid is a champion of quality and continuous improvement for both products and processes throughout the organization. Shahid’s responsibilities include overseeing Delta-Q’s Quality Management System, ISO, and regulatory compliances. This includes coordinating all activities related to achieving these requirements, resolving issues, and taking corrective actions worldwide. Shahid’s vast experience in quality assurance plays an important role in ensuring Delta-Q’s continued industry leadership in best-in-class processes, capabilities, and product reliability.

Shahid has held multiple managerial roles related to quality management prior to joining Delta-Q. These include positions at TomTom Automotive BV, Herman-Becker Automotive, and Black & Decker. Shahid received his Bachelor of Engineering degree from Tianjin University in China.

Outside of work, Shahid enjoys travelling the world and learning new international languages. When he is not abroad, Shahid can often be found at home reading a good book.

Taketsuyo Nishikiori, Director of Sales, Asia Delta-Q Technologies
Taketsuyo Nishikiori
Director of Sales, Asia

Taketsuyo Nishikiori is a senior sales leader with 30 years of international sales management in direct sales and distribution channels. He has spent many years developing businesses successfully in Asian countries such as Japan, Korea and Singapore.

Before joining Delta-Q, Taketsuyo was a Sales Director with Fimer (formerly ABB Solar Inverter Division), where he managed a team of sales account managers. He spent ten years within the electrification division of ABB, successfully developing the OEM component business across the Japanese market.

Taketsuyo resides in Fujisawa-city, a suburb of Tokyo, with his wife and two children. The city is located south of the Kanagawa Prefecture and is blessed with beautiful Pacific Ocean views. In his spare time, Taketsuyo enjoys playing tennis on weekends and participates in local competitions from time to time. He also enjoys running, walking, listening to music and watching drama movies.
