Charged by Delta-Q Feature: Fullriver Battery

The “Charged by Delta-Q program was created to build a community for OEMs, battery and BMS manufacturers and facilitate innovation and collaboration among the electric battery, charging and equipment sectors. Partnering with industry-leading battery and battery management systems (BMS) companies will help OEMs reduce the technical risk and time spent researching and testing batteries and chargers to find compatible electric power systems. All battery companies that are part of this program have had their optimized products iteratively tested and validated with Delta-Q chargers.

We are excited to have Fullriver Battery be a part of the launch of our program and bring optimized and compatible solutions to the marketplace alongside Delta-Q. To help our customers and audience learn more about Fullriver Battery and their participation in the Charged by Delta-Q program, we interviewed Aaron Plew, Director of Product Management.

What makes Fullriver stand apart as a battery manufacturer?

Aaron Plew: There is so much to say in this regard! Fullriver really is unique in many ways. Probably, the most important aspect, if one must be picked, would be the very significant design differences in our batteries. Fullriver batteries are designed to mitigate against real-world stresses beyond the safe confines of a lab setting.

Beginning with 99.994% pure lead ensures long life and low resistance for faster charging. High compression cells are connected by going over the cell partition instead of through it to protect internal components against vibration. Thicker grids allow the battery to be discharged deeply without premature failure. Add to all of this a 10-day plate curing process and xylitol bath to ensure balance and consistency from one cell to the next. We use a rugged, fire-retardant ABS case, epoxy sealed lid, and high psi valves to prevent electrolyte loss and stave off catastrophic failure. And, just to make sure we’ve accounted for everything, even our AGM separator is sourced for the highest purity to protect against early failure! A product is only as good as its weakest component.

What industries does Fullriver cater to?

Aaron Plew: Fullriver’s original focus was motive applications in industrial and commercial equipment (Golf, Utility, AWP, Floor Care, Material Handling). Today our markets have grown to include oil and gas, off-grid solar, and recreation vehicles.

Why did Fullriver join the Charged by Delta-Q program, and what excites them most about the program?

Aaron Plew: Fullriver has considered Delta-Q its most trusted charging partner for over a decade.

There are really only a handful of chargers that we can endorse, and Delta-Q is definitely at the top of that list. We’re excited to shine a spotlight on what we consider a special business relationship and such a great pairing for our batteries!

What products is Fullriver featuring as part of the Charged by Delta-Q program?

Aaron Plew: Fullriver is featuring a wide range of our batteries, including our entire golf range, batteries for material handling, floor care, aerial work platform, and even batteries from our new ultra-long-life EGL Series.

What are the key benefits that OEMs will get by working with Fullriver and the Charged by Delta-Q program?

Aaron Plew: When working with Fullriver, peace of mind is the most significant benefit the OEM will have. Our batteries have been and continue to be thoroughly tested with Delta-Q’s chargers and the unique algorithms created by them. The OEM can be assured that they are getting a fully vetted set of products to use in their equipment.

What market trends are Fullriver most excited about, and what is Fullriver doing to help OEMs?

Aaron Plew: We are very excited to see end-users beginning to show interest in long-life energy storage alternatives. Our EGL Series gives OEMs a “best of both worlds” product to satisfy customer demands for longer battery life, but without the high cost of lithium and configuration changes required, all while continuing to be safe, shippable and easily recycled.
