Charged by Delta-Q Feature: Stafl Systems

The “Charged by Delta-Q” program was created to build a community for OEMs, battery and BMS manufacturers and facilitate innovation and collaboration among the electric battery, charging and equipment sectors. Partnering with industry-leading battery and battery management systems (BMS) companies will help OEMs reduce the technical risk and time spent researching and testing batteries and chargers to find compatible electric power systems. All battery companies that are part of this program have had their optimized products iteratively tested and validated with Delta-Q chargers.

We are excited to have Stafl Systems be a part of the launch of our program and bring optimized and compatible solutions to the marketplace alongside Delta-Q. To help our customers and audience learn more about Stafl Systems and their participation in the Charged by Delta-Q program, we interviewed Trevor Steele, Project Manager at Stalf Systems.

What industries does Stafl Systems cater to?

Trevor Steele: Stafl Systems is somewhat unique in that we cater to any industry that uses a lithium-ion battery. More recently, we have been focused on the aviation, marine and electric vehicle industries as these have the greatest growth right now. We believe that the fundamentals of harnessing the energy of lithium-ion batteries are the core for any successful product regardless of industry.

Why did Stafl Systems join the Charged by Delta-Q program, and what excites them the most about the program?

Trevor Steele: The Charged by Delta-Q program was a natural fit for us, and we are excited to join with Delta-Q in this effort. Stafl Systems has used Delta-Q’s chargers for more than ten years in our projects, ranging from drones to electric watercraft. We are eager to continue to grow with Delta-Q and for the opportunity to provide great solutions to the industries that work with Delta-Q’s products. This program simply solidifies our joint commitment to producing great products.

What products are Stafl Systems featuring as part of the Charged by Delta-Q program?

Trevor Steele: Stafl Systems designs and builds battery management systems for lithium-ion battery packs, both high and low voltages. As part of this program, we are excited to feature our BMS products including our BMS1000M and BMS1101S and BMS1102S. These BMS products are often used as the foundation for future custom solutions for customers going into higher volume production.

What makes Stafl Systems stand apart as a battery manufacturer?

Trevor Steele: Stafl Systems provides battery management systems, vehicle control units and powertrain design for the lithium-ion battery powered industry. Most of what we do is custom for our customers, and we work on a wide range of projects from eVTOL and aviation to electric vehicles and consumer electronics. Our team is uniquely positioned to meet the needs of our clients with an ability to work quickly and use our depth of experience to solve critical challenges.

What are the key benefits that OEMs will get by working with Stafl Systems and the Charged by Delta-Q program?

Trevor Steele: The key benefit for Stafl Systems customers is the recognition we get that we are an excellent partner that OEMs can depend on for BMS solutions. We are also excited to continue to share the benefits of Delta-Q’s products and expertise in charging with our customers, clients and YouTube subscribers.

What market trends are Stafl Systems most excited about, and what is the company doing to help OEMs?

Trevor Steele: Right now, we are very excited about the eVTOL and aviation industry transitioning to electric platforms. This industry has seen a lot of promise that is now coming into reality. In the future, electric aviation of all shapes and sizes will be the norm. Stafl Systems is working on advanced battery management systems that account for the different requirements and high reliability required for this industry.

What is the most interesting project that Stafl Systems has worked on recently?

Trevor Steele: Stafl Systems is always working on interesting projects that push the boundaries of the available technology. Here are a couple of highlights:

  • Genovation GXE – Fastest Street-Legal Electric Vehicle in the World. Stafl Systems was responsible for the powertrain system design and the BMS on this incredible vehicle.
  • Elroy Air – Autonomous Cargo Aircraft. Stafl Systems is providing the BMS and is working with the Elroy Air team on the design of the powertrain for the aircraft.
  • Kai Concepts Jetfoiler – Foiling Electric Surfboard. Stafl Systems is providing a custom BMS for this platform.
